How does our English through play work?
In lessons at Braníček, children encounter English naturally and in a peaceful environment.
Each child participates according to their age, personality, and pace – nothing is mandatory.
We always start together and gradually, so that the children feel safe.
English appears during movement, songs, games, and creative activities, and children perceive it naturally in everyday situations.
When working with pictures, props, and simple dramatization, we engage multiple senses – children see, hear, move to, touch props, and create with English.
At the same time, they subtly develop fine motor skills, concentration, and self-confidence.
Some children repeat words immediately, while others just listen at first – both are perfectly fine.
Methodology and Approach
The program is prepared by Zuzka, the founder of Braníček and Susie’s Childcare, who draws inspiration from her years of experience and education in the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which is the British educational framework for preschool education. We also frequently use materials commonly used in British nurseries both in the UK and in international schools following the British system.
The goal of the lessons is not perfect pronunciation, but the joy of understanding another language, discovery, and playing together in English!
