At Braníček Language School, we are a licensed Teddy Eddie® centre, offering this internationally recognised English teaching method, trusted and loved by hundreds of thousands of children and their parents around the world.
We provide a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment for children aged 2 to 7—from toddlers and preschoolers to children starting primary school. Our Teddy Eddie® courses take place at our own language school in Prague–Braník, where children can learn English through play in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
What Makes the Teddy Eddie® Method Special?
Teddy Eddie® is much more than a typical English class with colouring sheets. It is a carefully designed teaching method that combines the natural way children learn with highly effective language acquisition.
Eddie the Teddy Bear – Learning Through Play and Real Experiences
Throughout the course, children are accompanied by Eddie the Teddy Bear, who magically pops out of his hat and speaks to them only in English. Children don’t learn through translation or rote memorisation. Instead, they acquire the language naturally—through movement, sensory experiences, funny stories, songs, games, and meaningful interactions.
It’s the same natural process through which children learn their first language.
Children Speak in Complete Sentences
From the very beginning, children are encouraged to use whole English phrases and complete sentences, rather than learning isolated words. Thanks to the carefully structured Teddy Eddie® method, they gradually begin to communicate naturally and confidently, building real speaking skills instead of simply memorising vocabulary.
Small Groups of Up to 6 Children and a Respectful, Individual Approach
Our classes are limited to a maximum of six children, ensuring that every child receives plenty of individual attention and has the opportunity to actively participate in every lesson.
At Braníček, we intentionally keep our classes to a small number to allow the teacher to respond to each child’s individual needs and personality.
We respect every child’s own pace, mood, and learning style. Some children are eager to join in straight away, while others prefer to observe before participating—and that’s perfectly okay. We know that children absorb language even while they are simply listening, watching, or playing alongside the group.
Choose the Right Teddy Eddie® Level for Your Child’s Age
Teddie Eddie Start (2-3 years)
This is where the real adventures with Eddie begin! Together with our friendly teddy bear, children enjoy imaginative role-play, funny stories, and plenty of playful mischief. At this age, children absorb a foreign language like little sponges and are naturally brilliant at imitating pronunciation. The Teddy Eddie® method takes full advantage of this unique stage of development.
Children don't just listen anymore—they actively start speaking, communicating naturally, and building complete English sentences with growing confidence.
Lesson format:
• Once a week: 40-minute lesson
or
• Twice a week: 35-minute lessons
Teddie Eddie Standard (4-5 years)
This is where our youngest learners take their very first steps into English. Through catchy songs, dancing, movement, and sensory play, children discover the language in a way that feels completely natural. Eddie the Teddy Bear gently guides them through every activity, helping them pick up authentic pronunciation from the very beginning and respond confidently to their first English instructions.
Lesson format:
• Twice a week: 35-minute lessons
Teddie Eddie ABC (5-6 years)
Designed for older preschoolers, this level is where Eddie becomes a true partner for conversations, storytelling, and language games. Children spend lots of time speaking, expressing their ideas, and gradually taking their first steps towards reading in English.
By this stage, they understand spoken English with ease, communicate naturally and confidently, and develop strong language skills that give them a real head start when they begin primary school.
Lesson format:
• Twice a week: 45-minute lessons
Teddie Eddie Superhero (6-7 years)
The final Teddy Eddie® level prepares children for confident English at school and beyond. Children communicate fluently, discuss more advanced topics, read age-appropriate English texts, and continue expanding their vocabulary and language skills in a natural, engaging way.
By the time they complete the programme, they have not only a strong foundation in English but also the confidence to use it both inside and outside the classroom.

Bearton Twins® is a modern English language programme designed for children aged 8 to 15, including complete beginners, children who have lost confidence or motivation through school English lessons, and those who benefit from a more flexible, supportive approach to learning.
It is an excellent alternative for children who thrive in a calmer, more individualised learning environment while still making genuine progress in spoken English and building the skills they need to succeed at school.
