Braníček Bilingual Mini-kindergarten with Montessori elements in Prague 4 – children working with materials
Braníček is a safe place for a child's first steps outside the family environment.

We know how important the first encounter with a group of children is, which is why we guide every child with kindness, patience, and respect. We believe that a two-year-old child primarily needs to feel safe, to be accepted as they are, and to have enough time to discover the world at their own pace.

  • Max. 6 children in a bilingual group
  • 1 guide for a max. of 3 children
  • Natural English every day
  • Education inspired by Montessori principles and the British EYFS methodology

Thanks to an exceptionally small group of only 4–6 children, we can truly perceive the needs of each child, give them sufficient individual attention, and respond to their interests and current developmental stage. English is a natural part of every day and children learn it much like their mother tongue – through play, daily activities, and shared discovery.

Our educational plan combines the British EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework, with which the founder Zuzka has years of practical experience and professional education, with Montessori pedagogy, which inspired her during her own journey into motherhood.

Why do parents choose us?

What makes our program exceptional?

  • British EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) methodology: A world-proven educational framework for the youngest. It focuses on the holistic development of the child – from personal and social education to communication, discovering the world, and motor skills, all the way to the basics of logical thinking.

  • Learning through stimulating stations: The mini-kindergarten is organized into thematic stations (art, math-logic, reading, or science). Children do not learn passively but discover through play. They work in a small group at each station. This naturally develops their independence and ability to cooperate.

  • Role-play zones: We regularly change the “play” stations (e.g., kitchen, doctor’s office, shop, or jungle), where children try out real-life roles. This builds social skills, empathy, and communication abilities.

  • Intimate group and human approach: We work with a small number of children. Thanks to this, we know the needs, pace, and personality of each child in detail and can give them maximum individual care and attention.

  • Morning communication circle: We start each day with a group meeting where we talk about the theme of the day, develop speech, learn to listen to others, and build friendships.

  • Active connection with parents: We believe in open communication and building trust. We regularly send parents information and photos from our program so you have a perfect overview of how your child is developing and what experiences they are having with us.

Our Team: Guides through the World of Knowledge

Your children are cared for with love and professional expertise by highly experienced guides, with whom children feel safe and who create a stimulating and harmonious environment:

Viktorie (Viki)

Bilingual mini-kindergarten lecturer
Viki leads programs for the youngest, English for preschoolers, and creative workshops at Braníček in Prague 4. She grew up with seven siblings, so caring for children is a natural instinct and a lifelong passion for her. In a calm and safe environment, she helps children develop their unique potential. She speaks Czech and is fluent in English and German.

Zuzka

Founder & Preschool Educator
Zuzka has been in the field for over 15 years and has extensive experience as a teacher, nanny, and mother. She studied preschool and extracurricular pedagogy in the Czech Republic and followed up with studies in Early Years and English as a Foreign Language in the UK, thanks to which she speaks both Czech and English fluently. In the mini-kindergarten she founded, she builds on a calm and supportive approach to children.

Daily Program: What our day looks like (8:30 AM – 12:30 PM)

Our daily program combines structure and freedom. We respect the children’s natural need to alternate focused work with movement and rest.

🌞 Arrival and free play – The day begins with the children’s calm arrival. Each child has enough time to say goodbye to their parents, greet the guides, and gradually engage with the prepared environment. Children choose the first activities that interest them.

🍎Individual snack – Unlike conventional kindergartens, not all children have their snack at the same time.
During the work cycle, each child decides for themselves when they need to rest and have a snack. Depending on their age, they prepare their place setting, get their snack ready, clean up after themselves, and return to their work.
Through this, children naturally develop independence, responsibility, and the ability to perceive their own needs.

🌳 Outdoor time – After the morning work cycle, we spend time outside. Children have plenty of space for movement, discovering nature, and walks around the Braník area. Being outdoors is a natural part of every day regardless of the season (weather permitting).
Exploring nature, playing in the fresh air, developing gross motor skills in the garden, or a walk around Braník.

🍽️ Shared lunch – We have lunch together in a calm and pleasant atmosphere. Children bring their own lunch from home, independently prepare their dining space, and learn to clean up after themselves after eating.

📚 Reading and a calm end to the day – The last part of the day is dedicated to reading a book together, storytelling, or quiet listening.
Children have the opportunity to calm down before going home and end the day with a pleasant shared moment.

👋 Going home – Children say goodbye to the guides and friends and gradually head home. Upon handover, we briefly inform parents about how the child spent their day, what interested them, or what they were currently working on.

Take a look at what it looks like here and what activities we do with the children. We regularly update the gallery with photos from past project days, celebrations, and daily Montessori activities.

We believe that a child’s first experience within a group of peers significantly influences how they will feel in future educational settings.

That is why we strive to create a space that serves as a gentle intermediate step between home and a traditional kindergarten. We gradually help children gain confidence, form their first relationships, communicate with others, and handle new situations without unnecessary pressure or the need to adapt to a large group.

Our goal is for the child to take away from Braníček, above all, self-confidence and the feeling that even the world outside the home and without parents can be a safe and joyful place.
